Replacement Surgery Procedure

Patients are asked to send in recent x-rays or scans and a recent report from an orthopaedic surgeon. I can help you obtain these and avoid the various bureaucracies .

These are sent to our Orthopaedic Surgeon in Malta for confirmation of diagnosis and treatment. I then finalise the quote with the patient and we select a time to suit the patient.

Patients are recommended to take a relative or friend to accompany them on the trip to Malta.

On arrival in Malta you will be met at the Airport and driven to The Victoria Hotel, which is next door to the hospital. You will next meet the Orthopaedic Surgeon for consultation and tests. The next day you will be admitted to the hospital for the operation and stay for the appropriate time before returning to the hotel.

Knee Surgery - Accommodation in Malta

The Victoria hotel is experienced in looking after our patients, who are usually accommodated in a twin room with their companion. The room also has a convenient walk in shower.

Physiotherapy, which is included in the quoted cost, starts as soon after the operation as possible and continues until the patient is ready to fly home.

Patients are closely monitored before, during and after the operation to ensure that recovery is on track, and they can fly home in the best possible health.  

Additional costs.
Flight costs are not included in the quote. Patients can arrange their own flights or I can (as ticket provider ) arrange the flight tickets at no additional cost to the face value of the ticket.

British Airways fly direct from London, with feeder flights from most UK airports
Prices vary from £150 to £300 for a return flight.

The cost for  a companion in a twin room at The Victoria Hotel for 2 weeks, is about £300 to £350 depending on the season
